Gina Margillo shares how collaboration with local radio, TV, and digital  producers in Nicaragua is effectively bombarding media platforms to change public opinion on a woman’s right to make choices about her body. She explores the elements needed for successful content creation for the non-profit sector which includes leveraging local partnerships, both big and small, monitoring and evaluation, strong and consistent messaging and multi-platform storytelling for social change.

As a specialist in strategic communication for advocacy for Planned Parenthood Global in Latin America, Gina Margillo works with media producers to create content that supports sexual and reproductive rights campaigns in Latin America. Prior to this she directed regional health communication campaigns to prevent chemical exposures at the most contaminated environmental justice sites  in California.
